Waldo7Labs is a web studio in Iron Station, North Carolina. It is one person: me, Jesse Chesnut. I build every site myself, from a blank file, and I am the one who answers when you call or email.
Where the name comes from
Waldo was my grandfather, Waldo Chesnut. He was a mechanic, a farmer and a builder in the hills of Berne-Knox, New York. He built the family home with his own hands, and it still stands. He never did a job halfway.
Putting his name on the business means I do not get to either. The full story, with family photos, is on our story.
Why one person
At a bigger agency, the person who sells you the site is often not the person who builds it, and neither of them answers when something breaks. Here it is the same person the whole way. You explain your business once, and changes do not wait in a ticket queue.
Where I work
I work from home in Iron Station, in eastern Lincoln County, west of Charlotte. Projects run by phone, video and email, which is how most owners prefer it anyway.
Most clients are local businesses in Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba and Mecklenburg counties. Some are farther out, in New York, Massachusetts and Ireland.
Some of the work
- Smith Mine, a fill dirt pit in Maiden, where customers pick a material, type an address and get a delivered price.
- Creo Classical Academy, a K through 12 school with private portals for families and faculty.
- Frankies Slice Shop, New York style pizza by the slice in Cork, Ireland.
There is more on the work page.
What I build
Custom websites, online stores, booking and quote systems, and AI chat and phone assistants for local businesses. My own business line is answered by an AI assistant in my voice. Call (980) 222-1163 to hear it.
Every job is one fixed price, quoted up front, with no long contracts. If you are a reporter, the press page has the facts and photos.
