Where they started

The problem

A Lincolnton pit house serving since 1971, with more than 1,900 Google reviews and years of regional press, but nothing online that matched the reputation. The menu and catering were the two things people came looking for, and both were hard to find.

What we did about it

What we built

The Bar-B-Q King menu on two phones, showing BBQ Plates and Trays with prices from $9 to $14, and the first page of the printable PDF menu.

01

The whole menu, with prices

Every plate, sandwich, side and drink is on the menu page with its price. A bar along the bottom jumps to any section. The same menu comes as a two page PDF for the fridge or the office.

Four phone screens of the catering builder: choosing delivery at about $15 a person, ticking chopped BBQ, wings, slaw, baked beans, hushpuppies, banana pudding and sweet tea, the event details with 40 guests, and the 2026 catering menu prices. Nothing was sent.

02

Build a catering order

People pick pick up, delivery or full catering, tick the food they want and say how many are coming. The catering prices sit right below, and there is a catering PDF to take away. The request goes straight to the restaurant.

Three phone screens: the Fifty-Five Years of Hollerin' Orders history page, the Press and Reviews page led by a Queen City News story on the 55th year, and a grid of the restaurant's own photos of ribs, chopped BBQ, onion rings and the pit.

03

The story, the press, the photos

The history page tells how the Abernethys opened the doors on September 1, 1971. The press page gathers coverage from WBTV to The Charlotte Observer. The photos are their own food, their own pit and their own people, no stock.

The Bar-B-Q King reviews page on a laptop and a phone: a 4.4 Google rating from 1,900 plus reviews, a 3.7 Yelp rating, and a row of five star review cards with reviewer names blurred.

04

What folks say

The reviews page shows the Google and Yelp ratings side by side with real reviews rolling underneath. Buttons send happy customers straight to leave one of their own.

The contact page on a phone with hours, holiday closings and early closings, beside the live search markup listing Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2026 with their dates and hours.

05

Hours that know the holidays

Regular hours, holiday closings and early closings are listed on the contact page. The same holidays go into the search markup with real dates, worked out fresh every year, so search engines are told the restaurant is shut on Thanksgiving without anyone updating a thing.
