Where they started

The problem

Marquee Moments rents 4 foot light up marquee letters for weddings, birthdays, proms and corporate events across New York's Capital Region. Nobody can see the letters in person before renting them, so the site has to help people picture the setup at their own event.

Every venue is different too. Stairs, a long carry or an outdoor lawn change what a setup takes, so a price given without those details can be wrong.

What we did about it

What we built

The Event Estimate Builder on a laptop and a phone. On the laptop, LOVE with a heart icon shows as lit marquee letters next to the Luminous Package from $749. On the phone, MR & MRS shows as 6 characters with $99 for each character past four.

Type it, see it lit

Customers type their phrase and the marquee letters light up on screen as they type. A running count shows which package it falls in and the starting price, and the Signature Icon adds a lit heart, ring or @ to the end.

An estimate in four short steps

After the letters come the event, the venue and the timing. When the details fit a standard setup, the preliminary estimate shows on screen line by line and a copy goes out by email.

Two phone screens and a result card with demo data: venue answers for an outdoor setup on grass with a long carry, the request for 2 to 3 setup area photos, and the Request Received screen listing the details the team will review. Run on a local copy, nothing sent.

Tricky venues get a second look

Stairs, a long carry, grass, an outdoor setup or a big display change what a job takes. The builder spots those answers, asks for photos of the setup area, and tells the customer what the team will check before pricing it.

Every request in one place

Each request lands on a private leads page with the estimate, the venue answers and anything flagged. The team sets a status, marks who needs a follow up, keeps notes and exports email and text opt ins.

95 town pages cover seven Capital Region counties, from Albany and Troy to Saratoga Springs and Lake George. Each one sends people straight to the estimate builder.
