Walk through the store

Alan's store is a 90s video store you can walk around in, right in the browser. His dioramas sit on the shelves, and the theater in the back plays them on the big screen.

Where they started

The problem

One artist, Alan, building handmade horror dioramas one at a time, and no home for them outside eBay. The searches that mattered, phrases like Tremors diorama or Halloween shelf display, went to bigger shops.

Most pieces had already sold, and a sold eBay listing is a dead end.

What we did about it

What we built

The K-OKLA Radio Station diorama page from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 on a laptop and a phone: the lit build photo, a $465 price with free US shipping, ready to ship, and the Buy Now button.

01

A page for every piece

Each of Alan's 40 builds has its own page with every photo, the price, whether it is ready to ship and how long it takes. The page carries full product markup, so search engines can read the price, shipping and returns. Pieces can be bought through his eBay store.

Three phone screens: the All Builds page showing 3 ready to ship and 37 built to order, the sold RoboCop Toxic Waste Emil diorama page, and its Order This Build button with a 4 to 6 week build time.

02

Sold pieces keep their page

When a piece sells its page stays up and switches to built to order, about 4 to 6 weeks. Nothing goes to a dead link, and a collector who finds an old build can still order one like it.

The Browse By Film page on a laptop with film cards for Elm Street, Batman Returns, Child's Play 3 and more, and two phone screens of the Tremors film page with the Burt's Rec Room build.

03

Browse by film

Every film Alan has built a scene from has its own page, 25 in all. Each one lists the builds from that film and asks for a custom piece from the same movie.

The KollectNoir reviews page on a laptop with a 5.0 rating, a scrolling strip of short buyer quotes and a featured review, and a phone showing one review with links to the eBay feedback and the build.

04

Reviews from real buyers

Buyer feedback from his eBay store sits on its own page with the build it was left for. Each review links back to the feedback on eBay and to the piece, and buyer names are shortened.

Four admin screens: the Add a build form, the product list with the K-OKLA Radio Station open for price and stock, a sale with the ship to address, box size and Copy address, Buy postage and Packing slip buttons, and the printed packing slip. Demo data with fake buyers.

05

From new build to posted parcel

Alan adds a build from his phone: photos first, then a few lines, and the site makes the rest. He sets price and stock in one list. When a sale comes in he copies the address, opens postage and prints a packing slip without looking anything up.
